The Saudi Arabian passport, issued by the Ministry of Interior (Absher), requires a photograph of 40x60mm. This is a larger format than the standard 35x45mm. The background must be pure white. The photo must clearly show the face with the head covering 70% to 80% of the vertical height. For male applicants, the traditional headgear (ghutra/shemaq) is permitted but must not cover the face. For female applicants, the face must be fully visible from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead.
