Argentina Visa Photo Requirements 2026
Foreign nationals applying for a tourist visa to enter Argentina must submit photos that conform to the specifications published on the official argentina.gob.ar portal. According to the page Obtener visa de turista para ingresar a la Argentina, applicants are required to provide two (2) current photographs measuring 4 × 4 cm (40 × 40 mm), front-facing, in colour, with a white background. These specifications mirror the passport photo standard set out in Decreto 261/2011 and apply to all visa types processed through Argentine consular offices abroad.

Who Needs a Visa for Argentina in 2026?
Argentina's visa policy is administered by the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (migraciones.gob.ar). Citizens of over 90 countries — including the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most of Latin America — can enter Argentina visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism. Citizens of Mercosur member and associated states may enter using their national identity document alone. Nationals requiring a visa — including citizens of China, India, and Pakistan — must apply in advance at an Argentine consulate. The Argentine Embassy in the United States (updated 27 March 2026) also confirms that nationals of India, the Dominican Republic, and the People's Republic of China holding a valid US B2, J, O, P, E, or H-1B visa may enter Argentina for tourism without an Argentine visa.

Submitting Your Visa Application
Tourist visa applications must be submitted at an Argentine consulate in the applicant's country of residence. Required documents include a valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity, the two 4 × 4 cm photos, a completed and signed visa application form, proof of financial solvency, round-trip travel reservation, and hotel reservation or invitation letter. The consular fee is approximately USD 150 (subject to change — check the relevant consulate). The maximum tourist stay granted is 90 days, as confirmed by the official argentina.gob.ar service page.
Digital Submission and the Mi Argentina Platform
For procedures processed through Argentine government digital platforms, photos submitted online must be in JPEG format with a plain white background, taken facing the camera. The Mi Argentina platform (mi.argentina.gob.ar) is the official portal for booking appointments and tracking document applications within Argentina. For consular visa applications abroad, photos are submitted physically at the consulate appointment, as outlined on the official cancilleria.gob.ar and consulate websites.
